Some of my most magical nights have been just that – one night and one night only. There’s something special about the unrestrained passion that comes with the knowledge that you’ll never see each other again. Author and blogger Goldmund knows that same feeling, and his newest book Art of the One Night Stand shares ten different stories about his romantic adventures in exotic locales.
While entertaining on their own, Art of the One Night Stand “stands alone” (see what I did there?) from the average sex chronicle. Goldmund devotes a postgame breakdown after each story, allowing the reader to deconstruct the stories, examine the methodology and learn exactly how Goldmund does what he does.
Of course, as interesting as Goldmund’s stories and game methods may be, let’s talk about the really great part of the book – this sweet ass cover created by yours truly. Check it out:
Although it’s a close tie between Art of the One Night Stand and Matt Forney’s Trolling For A Living, AOTONS is my favorite book cover that I’ve created so far. Goldmund was kind enough to give me a large amount of creative freedom on this project, so we did a little brainstorming. We decided that the calavera would make an excellent mascot since calaveras are a prominent feature within Goldmund’s writing. I integrated a considerable amount of detail into this cover, combining the traditional sugar skull look along with a bit of traditional tattoo-style artwork. Here’s a detail showing some of the flowery shapes and texture on the skull:
