Last week I received one of the strangest design requests I’ve gotten in a while – create a sticker design for a fake band. The project specs were “All I have is $20. Also it really needs to have a hamster, some rock candy and disembodied boobs.” Twenty bucks worth of design time later, I created this hamsteriffic bit of weirdness:
Your guess is as good as mine
Since I’ve been getting several requests for sports logos, I thought I’d take a little time to develop the hamster image a bit further into something “sporty”. Sports logos look really cool and a hamster is kind of a wuss animal, so it was a fun challenge to make the logo look like something that a sports team would actually use. I’ve been working on learning a bit of Russian, so I decided to go with “хомяк” (pronounced “hamyak”, which is Russian for “hamster”) as my fake sports team. Here’s the new and improved хомяк logo:
Hamsters + Cyrillic text = striking fear into the hearts of opposing teams everywhere. Dunno about you, but I’d definitely join a cubicle farm’s intramural softball team just to wear this shirt.
