Pokémon is hands down the most brutal video game ever made. You go into the wilderness, enslave a monster, then FORCE IT TO FIGHT FOR YOUR PERSONAL GLORY. I’ve never actually played it, but at least I think that’s how it works. I wanted to do some death metal logo practice, so I made this brutal Pokémon death metal logo:
I shot for readability on this logo, as well as classic metal symmetry. The level of detail in this thing is absurd. I’m new to the style and therefore sort of slow, but I put about 18 hours of time into this. Check out a detail shot:
Some of my friends in Community of Metal Designers gave me some excellent advice on drawing organic projections, so I created a combination of claws, thorns and insectoid limbs here. Lots of webbing and drips really add to this piece, as well as some texture. I’m stoked on how this turned out. I’d love to work with some death metal bands, so if you need a logo hit me up.
